Custom Picture Frames
Hand-crafted custom frames to showcase your art, documents, awards & mementos
What are the proper conversions for fractions to decimals in custom framing? Do you make the frame I would like to order or are the frames in-stock? What types of frame mouldings do you offer? Do I send you my artwork or photo for custom framing? We typically create our custom frames so that you can easily open them and insert your own art or photo or canvas, similar to the way that a desktop photo frame works. We provide you with simple instructions to do this. Our frames come complete with archival mounting materials as well as acid-free “conservation” matting and backing materials. We have found that this is preferred by our customers because they do not have to worry about mailing the special item that they want to have framed. Why should I frame my posters or photos or art? How quickly can I expect to receive my custom frame after ordering? How will my order be shipped?

We do not stock standard size frames, but rather we create every custom frame specifically to order. Properly sizing the frame and the custom matting is a critical part of creating an appealing presentation. We take great pride in the craftsmanship and quality of our frames and create each with a specific piece to be framed in mind.
We offer wood frame mouldings with a variety of distinctive furniture finishes as well as silver, gold, copper and other metallic finishes. We create high quality custom frames and, as such, are very selective about the quality of our frame mouldings.
For contract or volume picture framing, we provide complete framing services and will insert artwork, provide personalization, add embossed logos, engraved plates, placement of collectibles such as coins or stamps, and we offer ship-ready packaging as well as blind fulfillment.
How many mats should I use in my frame? Is there a difference between 1 mat or 2 mats or more?
Choosing the number of mats is really a matter of personal preference and the look you prefer with the piece being framed. There is no difference between 1 and 2 or more mats in terms of how it protects the artwork. The purpose of the mat is to provide separation between the art or photo and the glass (also known as glazing). This separation is very important to the long term protection of your artwork, and for this reason we always recommend at least 1 mat for virtually all custom framing jobs with the exception of canvases for which it is unnecessary. It is merely a matter of personal preference. Typically the outer mat is neutral and the inner mats, with a reveal of approximately ¼” in an accent color or two, are there to bring out the colors in the art or photo and draw your eye into the object being framed.
Paper is a delicate material. Over time, it can become dented, torn, dirty or otherwise damaged if not protected from handling and environmental risks. Paper is also prone to mildew stains, insect holes, scratches and discoloration. Matting and framing the artwork that you enjoy or hope to keep for many years is your best method to assure it is preserved for the future. Even if it’s a child’s painting or a favorite photo or your own creation, there is no better way to safeguard the things you love than in a customized frame.
